During the past few years, there has been clear trends within FPD industry. For example, display is getting larger in all applications, foldable displays are well accepted from high-end smartphone, OLED expansion to IT era, higher refresh rate and energy saving. To cope with these trends, LTPO technology is being used more and new investments in Generation 8 RGB OLED fabs are happening.

 Therefore, mask industry requesting more stringent requirements. The mask quality required in G6 will be required on G8 mask size which is ~45% larger. For LTPO, it will require ~x1.5 mask steps compared to other TFT technologies, tightening global placement and contact hole requirements.
